IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Indonesian Health Ministry issued circular number HK.02.02/11/368/2021 on administering Covid-19 vaccination for the elderly population as well as other population groups.

The circular stated that the National Immunization Expert Advisory Committee has submitted a study, and it is concluded that the Covid-19 vaccine can be given to people over 60 years of age, people with comorbid diseases, and Covid-19 survivors, as well as breastfeeding mothers.

The comorbid group, such as people with high blood pressures, can be vaccinated as long as their blood pressure is lower than 180/110 MmHg. People with diabetes can get the vaccine if they do not have acute complications.

Cancer survivors can be given the vaccine if it’s been more than three months. Nursing mothers can be given vaccine injections as well.

The Health Ministry asked provincial governments to update the PCare app in order to facilitate screening updates and re-registration of the delayed targets. The ministry also stated that all vaccination service posts must be equipped with anaphylaxis kits and are under the responsibility of the local health center or hospital.

Local governments are asked to immediately take necessary corrective actions in order to improve the vaccination implementation and accelerate the expansion of Covid-19 vaccination coverage.
