IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, sends Lunar New Year, or the Imlek 2572 Kongzili celebration, messages to the Confucian community in the country on Friday, February 12, 2021.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the president hopes the spirit to celebrate the Chinese New Year remains high.
“On today’s Imlek celebration, we’re not free to celebrate it with joy together. But it doesn’t reduce our gratitude for the abundance of peace and love in the family,” Widodo said on his Twitter post on Friday, February 12.
Jokowi wishes the spirit of the 2021 Lunar New Year will bring happiness to the people. “Hopefully, we all remain in the spirit of brotherhood and be kept away from diseases and disaster. Gong xi fa cai,” the president remarked.
