Bali Tourism: 92.7 Percent of People in Kuta Inoculated, Sandiaga Uno Says

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The government is presently gearing up to reopen Bali tourism to international tourists, among them by intensifying vaccination for people in the tourist destinations of the resort island.

“During a dialogue with tourism and creative economy players in Kuta, we learned that more than 92.7 percent of people have been inoculated,” said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno in a weekly press briefing in Jakarta, Monday, June 14, 2021.

Sandi explained the government had prepared the additional issuance of CHSE (cleanliness, health, safety and environment) certificates in a number of tourist sites, and that there would be 1,200 new CHSE certificates for Bali alone.

Sandiaga Uno has repeatedly uttered the planned reopening Bali in the past few days. “We continue to make the preparations, now we have reached 85-95 percent and this [figure] will continue to fluctuate, either up or down, depending on our seriousness in making the necessary preconditions,” he said.

Sandiaga Uno said the results of the meeting would be discussed immediately in a ministerial meeting prior to the official announcement of when Bali would be reopened to international tourists.
