IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security, Mahfud MD, on Tuesday said that the regional head candidates who have met the requirements to run for the 2020 simultaneous regional elections will be announced on the General Election Commission (KPU) website.
“The announcement of the candidates that will be considered to have met the requirements on September 23 will be made in a closed KPU meeting in each region and will be announced through the website,” said Mahfud MD in a virtual meeting in preparation of the simultaneous regional head election.
He also told that the list of approved candidates will also be exhibited by each KPU regional headquarters to prevent generating crowds of people and preventing candidates from mobilizing people to campaign on public streets.
The changes in the KPU regulation No.10/2020 will consider banning processions, crowds, and general meetings that exceed a certain amount of people.
