Jakarta Schools Asked to Prepare for Classroom Schooling in 2021

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta The headmaster of the SMAN 8 state highschool, Rita Hastuti, on Wednesday said she received an order from the Jakarta Education Agency calling for schools to prepare for the reopening of classroom schooling in 2021.

Schools are asked to prepare to implement strict health protocols to prevent COVID-19 infection but are still waiting for the agency to issue an official order. The SMAN 8, she said, is ready to reopen its classrooms next year after already simulating it by reopening two classes.

“The Jakarta education agency called for schools to prepare,” Rita wrote in a text message on November 25.

Moreover, the classroom schooling will only open 50 percent of the school’s total capacity for 20 students each class which ensures that students will abide by physical distancing protocols. However, she ensures that students will only be allowed to attend school if they have obtained parental consent.
