Bawaslu releases legal consultation post to support general elections

Bawaslu wishes to enhance civil services by offering legal assessment centers to the general public and basic elections supervisors who need details, understanding, or legal opinion on electoral law.

Jakarta – The General Elections Supervisory Company (Bawaslu) on Friday opened a legal consultation post for Indonesians to realize quality and democratic elections.

“Congratulations on the launch of Bawaslu ' s legal consultation post. Hopefully, it would realize direct, public, totally free, confidential, sincere, and fair elections,” Bawaslu Head Rahmat Bagja said at the launch occasion of the post, which was aired on Bawaslu ' s YouTube channel on Friday.

He kept in mind that the launch of the post coincided with Constitution Day, which is commemorated every August 18 in Indonesia. According to him, the Constitution is the agreement of the Indonesian country.

Bagja even more said that, in the context of elections, the essence of this agreement is the presence of involvement rights of all stakeholders in order to perform the mandate of the Constitution with the spirit of fastabiqul khairat or competing in goodness.

“( This is) to provide access or justice to all Indonesian individuals in recognizing election justice,” he said.

On The Other Hand, Bawaslu ' s Secretary General Ichsan Fuady informed that the post was launched due to the company ' s passion to provide a space for the public to get details about the general elections.

According to him, the post will also offer area for basic elections supervisors to carry out consultations and get legal considerations in carrying out the responsibilities and functions of election supervision.

He stated the launch of the post is aimed at recognizing assessment services that are quick, simple, transparent, and integrated. The agency is likewise intending to supply services that are liable and devoid of corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

“Bawaslu wants to improve public services by offering legal consultation centers to the general public and basic elections supervisors who need details, understanding, or legal viewpoint on electoral law,” Fuady said.

He also expressed the hope that the post would improve the quality of the agency ' s civil services and make them quickly, easy, transparent, and measurable, as part of excellent governance.
