Ministry dispatches 358 Indonesia Maju Scholarship awardees

Jakarta – The Education, Culture, Research Study, and Technology Ministry has sent 358 recipients of the Indonesia Maju Scholarship (BIM) for the Overseas Batch II.

” With this scholarship, you have a great responsibility to enhance the chances and go back to the country equipped with increased understanding and abilities,” the ministry’s Acting Head of the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), Hendarman, said in a declaration received here on Sunday.

The BIM recipients remain in the bachelor’s degree (S1) and master’s degree (S2) programs, and were formally launched after an instruction that took place on August 13-19 in Jakarta.

” Pleased adventure on your brand-new scholastic and professional journey. Continue to progress for Advanced Indonesia,” Hendarman said.

Hendarman recommended the trainees to make the very best use of their time while studying abroad and return to the nation to apply the knowledge gained for the development of the country.

” Get in touch with fellow students from various parts of the world and discover new cultures and knowledge. You are agents of change who will help Indonesia flourish and contend on the international stage,” he said.

He likewise pressed the students to continue to influence, innovate, and trigger a positive influence on Indonesian society and the country.

Among the recipients, Rikva Abrianna Napitupulu, from public high school SMAN 2 of South Tangerang, conveyed her strategy to contribute to Indonesia when she returns to the country.

” I focus (study) on structural transportation and development. I wish to acquire the understanding and will share it with Indonesia to be advanced,” Napitupulu, who was accepted at the University of California, said.

Among others, the BIM Overseas Batch II receivers will study at the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, Nanyang Technological University, Monash University, and the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
