Workers With Comorbidities Should Work From Home: Doni Monardo

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The chief of the government’s COVID-19 Management Acceleration Task Force, Doni Monardo, has appealed to employers to prohibit their employees who had a history of comorbidities from working at the office.

Doni suggested that such workers should instead work from home.

“Among them are those suffering from kidney diseases, hypertension, cardiovascular illnesses, diabetes, cancers, and others,” he said in a release on Monday, June 8, 2020.

According to the site Covid-19.go.id, the most common comorbidities found in COVID-19 patients are hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases and chronic obstructive pulmonary illness.

Other comorbidities with lower percentage include kidney diseases, other respiratory diseases, asthma, immunity disorders, TB and liver diseases.

Up till Sunday, June 7, 2020, the country’s COVID-19 tally reached 31,186—10,498 of them recovered while 1,851 died.
