Wadas Local Deny Authorities Claims Relating To Defense

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Lots of people who live at the Wadas village in Purworejo, Central Java, were previously believed to possess weapons as their town was surrounded by police workers who were entrusted to guard the government’s land survey of a significant dam construction job at the area.

Nevertheless, one of the residents who wishes to stay anonymous denied the reports and clarified that there were only 4 individuals who were implicated of carrying sharp things.

” The claims made by authorities that 4 people brought weapons is an effort to twist the truths,” the local citizen stated in a virtual press conference on Thursday, February 10,2022

The preliminary claims came from police to validate the arrest of 67 local villagers, 13 of which were children, one is a member of the LBH Yogyakarta legal aid, and an artist.

The regional resident said that the sickle, crowbar, and machete that authorities confiscated were drawn from a bike owned by local youth who was on his method to cut lawns to feed his cattle. The crowbar, he included, was taken from the house of a regional resident who was being refurbished.

” Within 24 hours, the allegations from cops were not proven,” he insisted.

The Main Java Authorities spokesperson commissioner Iqbal Alqudusy previously stated in a composed statement that cops who were activated at the Wadas village on Tuesday, February 10, 2022, ” protected a variety of people who brought weapons, they were required to the Bener Police headquarter.”

The cops claim there were stress between local villagers who supported the building and construction of the national tactical project and those who opposed it. Alqudusy stated that a joint team consisting of authorities, military, and public order agency personnel were activated to Wadas to lower the tension.
