South Sulawesi Records Highest Daily Rise in COVID-19 Cases

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – South Sulawesi recorded the highest daily rise in new COVID-19 cases on Friday, June 19, 2020. Based on the government’s data, the province has 207 additional coronavirus infections.

“If we observe from the distribution map of the new cases, South Sulawesi reports 207 more new cases,” said the government’s spokesman for the COVID-19 handling, Achmad Yurianto, on Friday, June 19.

Below South Sulawesi, Jakarta recorded 141 new positive cases, followed by East Java with 140 new cases. The total number of new COVID-19 cases nationwide today hits 1,041.

A day earlier, on June 18, East Java recorded the highest new cases at 384, while Jakarta was second with 176 cases and South Sulawesi with 166 cases.

Yurianto confirmed today that Indonesia had now had a total of 43,803 positive cases, with 17,349 recoveries and 2,373 deaths.
