Satisfaction Level Towards Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin Drops in Latest IPO Survey

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta A survey by the pollster Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) on Thursday, October 29, suggests that the public satisfaction level towards the current administration led by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and VP Ma’ruf Amin had dwindled in a poll held on June 8-20. 

“The perception of satisfaction towards the president and VP saw a decline in the June 8-20 survey,” wrote IPO executive director, Dedi Kurnia Syah, in its latest report on Thursday, October 29.

According to Dedi, satisfaction levels dropped from 63 percent to 49 percent for President Jokowi while VP Ma’ruf Amin went from 39 percent to 33 percent. The survey involved 170 opinion leaders comprising university researchers, independent researchers, social science associations, and 1,200 respondent voters. 

The survey that has a 2.9 percent margin of error states that most of them were not satisfied by the government’s performance in the economic sector. Fifty-one percent of them deem the national economy to be in a bad situation while 43 percent of them considers the economy to be in an acceptable condition. 

The aspects of the economy taken into the survey’s consideration were the perception of high-prices of staple goods, the difficulties of finding jobs, and trade transaction difficulties. Other aspects besides the economy include law enforcement, corruption, law enforcer’s independence, freedom of expression, the quality of a policy, tolerance management, social conflict, welfare, and justice.
