IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – In a virtual meeting with journalists on Monday, Gerindra Party politician and former presidential race candidate Sandiaga Uno criticized the government and how it conveys information related to COVID-19.
“What I want to criticize is the way the information is delivered, there seems to not be any discipline regarding the way information is given,” said Sandiaga to journalists in a Google meeting which talked about education amidst the new normal phase.
He asserts that there needs to be a form of discipline in maintaining the flow of information in each government level, as he believes that each level of government has provided the public with differing information.
“But it’s easier in provincial governments because mayors function to report to the governor, such as DKI Jakarta,” said the former Jakarta deputy governor.
As other critics have expressed, Sandiaga Uno agrees that the highest chain of command on COVID-19 information dissemination must be held by the national task force on the accelerated handling of COVID-19.
