Komnas HAM to Examine Langkat Regent over Human Cage

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) will examine the inactive Langkat Regent Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin on Monday afternoon, Feb. 7. The investigation will be conducted at the Merah Putih Building of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“Komnas HAM is scheduled this afternoon to collect information from Langkat Regent,” said acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri on Monday.

Previously, Komnas HAM Commissioner Choirul Anam said this request for information was vital to find out the details and the role of Terbit in the human cage case.

One of them is to explore the findings of victims who died in the prison cells. According to Anam, the cage manager claimed the victim died due to stomach acid disease. However, other witnesses stated otherwise that the victim died due to violence.

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) also found allegations that there had been prisoners who died in human cages at Terbit’s house. The victim was found dead with wounds on the body. LPSK is still exploring these findings.
