Jokowi Involves Islamic Organizations to Disseminate the COVID-19 Vaccination

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday requested religious organizations such as the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and Muhammadiyah to help the government disseminate the COVID-19 vaccination program.

The president in general asks the aforementioned organizations to communicate to the public about the benefits of the vaccine.

“Assure people about the ‘halal’ nature of the vaccine,” said President Jokowi during the limited meeting on October 26.

Last week, the MUI was reportedly involved in the national COVID-19 vaccination program by helping oversee its procurement, planning, and the vaccine’s factory audit as assured by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin in the meeting.

“MUI will continue to be involved in disseminating the COVID-19 vaccination program to a wide audience,” said the VP on Friday, October 16.
