Jokowi: Covid-19 Pandemic Is God’s Test

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo hoped that the public would remain grateful that Indonesia’s economy is still running amid the Covid-19 pandemic. He opined the pandemic is a God’s test which almost all countries in the world must be facing.

“As many as 215 countries have experienced exactly the same thing, we must be grateful for God’s presence that the economy is still moving. This is a situation that we must deal with as a test from God,” said the President after handing out working capital assistance (BMK) in Jakarta Merdeka Palace on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

He pledged to the public that the country would recover when Covid-19 vaccines could have been distributed to the public.

Inshallah at the end of the year or early next year, vaccination can be carried out. This means the situation will return to normal,” he remarked.

Most street vendors attending the President’s invitation at the Merdeka Palace complained about their struggles in making a profit from their business. Some even claimed they lost their capital.

With the fund assistance of Rp2.4 million, Jokowi hoped it could add the traders’ business capital to keep their business running.

“Don’t let the business down. It must be running again. Large, medium, small, or micro-entrepreneurs are facing difficult times now. But keep striving to survive,” he underlined.
