Jakarta Records 807 New COVID-19 Cases Today

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Jakarta reported 807 new COVID-19 cases today, September 28, 2020. The Regional Health Agency’s Head of Disease Prevention and Control, Dwi Oktavia, outlined the city carried out a total of 5,122 PCR tests: 707 of them turned back positives, while the rest were negatives.

“But the total additional cases today are 807 cases because the other 100 new cases are accumulated data from September 27 that have been reported,” said Dwi in a written statement on Monday, September 28.

The number of new confirmed cases today marked the first time Jakarta recording below one thousand new daily infections throughout September.

The 807 new positive cases pushed the city’s total tally to 72,177 cases. Of which, Dwi detailed, 12,732 patients were still being treated or put under self-isolation, 1,704 patients died, and 57,741 patients have made recoveries.

“The recovery rate is 80 percent, while the case fatality rate is 2.4 percent,” Dwi said.

On Thursday, September 24, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan announced the extension of the Large-scale Social Restrictions or PSBB Volume 2 for 14 days until October 11, 2020, as an effort to curb virus transmission.
