Jakarta Police to Help Administer 140,000 Doses of Covid-19 Vaccines

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Jakarta Metro Police will participate in Indonesia’s mass vaccine rollout. The police force is allocated 140,000 doses for them to administer. 

“We are preparing 600 vaccinators,” Jakarta Metro Police’s PR chief, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said on Tuesday, June 8.

The inoculation drive by the police force will take place until June 30. Each police precinct will vaccinate up to 350 people.

The vaccination by the Metro Police is available in 100 locations in Jakarta. Tomorrow, President Jokowi will witness the implementation of mass vaccinations in two locations; the University of Indonesia Hospital and another location in Serpong, South Tangerang.

In addition to the Metro Police, the Kodam Jaya also received 140,000 vaccines which will be distributed to residents until the end of June 2021.

The Jakarta government is targeting to inoculate 1,470,000 residents by the end of June. The police are tasked to carry out 10 percent of that target.
