Indonesia Reports 533 New Covid-19 Cases, 7 Deaths

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is continuously increasing. According to the data from the national Task Force, there were 533 additional cases as per Thursday, January 6, at 12: 00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

The number added Indonesia’s total Coronavirus cases to 4,264,669, since the first cases in the country were confirmed on March 2, 2020.

Meanwhile, 209 people have recovered, adding the total number of recoveries to 4,115,358.

Unfortunately, today saw seven people ceased to the disease, amounting the total Covid-19 death toll in Indonesia to 144,116.

The country is also dealing with the increasing number of patients infected with the Omicron variant. Most of the cases came from international travelers. Therefore, the government is urging the people to refrain from traveling overseas and adhere to the strict health protocol.
