Indonesia Receives 819,600 Moderna Covid-19 Vaccines from the Netherlands

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Indonesia received 819,600 doses of Moderna Covid-19 vaccine from the Dutch Government.

“The Indonesian Government expresses our highest appreciation and gratitude to the countries that have helped with the vaccine donation,” said the director general of Information and Communication at the Communication and Informatics Ministry Usman Kansong in his statement on Saturday, October 30.

The 108th arrival added the total of the Covid-19 vaccine received by Indonesia to 313,155,360. Indonesia obtained the vaccines of various brands through direct purchase or donation from other countries. “The continuous vaccine arrivals do help the efforts to accelerate and intensify the vaccination program to be more optimal,” Usman said.

Besides the vaccine stock availability, the government also gives education to the public, especially regarding the circulating hoaxes. Usman said that hoaxes have hampered the vaccination program in several regions.

He asserted that all the Covid-19 vaccines of any brand are efficacious and have received permit from food and drug monitoring agency (BPOM). Usman, therefore, urges those who have not yet get the shots to immediately get ones. In addition, in order to prevent the third wave from coming, the government reminds the public to maintain the health protocols.
