Ganjar Pranowo Supports Nusantara Covid-19 Vaccine Initiated by Terawan

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Semarang  Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo voiced his support for the development of the homegrown Covid-19 vaccine named ‘Nusantara’ which was initiated by Diponegoro University, Kariadi General Hospital, and former Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto. The vaccine has reportedly entered the second phase of clinical trials.

Ganjar hoped the production could be completed soon and ready for use. “If it has been tested, like GeNose, we will be ready to use it,” said Ganjar in his office on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

Facilities belonging to the provincial government, he added, would be provided if needed to support the vaccine research. “I can authorize all of the seven province-owned regional hospitals for that purpose,” Ganjar remarked.

According to him, as the claim of Terawan, the vaccine would be safer for use as the DNA samples were taken from Indonesia. “He [Terawan] said that based on the methodology, the vaccine is far safer.”

Apart from the Nusantara Covid-19 vaccine, Ganjar said he would support all the works of Indonesian children aimed at handling the Covid-19 pandemic, including the Merah Putih vaccine and coronavirus detector Genose.
