Recovered Covid-19 Patients Can Be Reinfected: Job Force

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Managing Job Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said that there were a number of cases of persisting Covid-19 infection in Indonesia although the body of recovered clients should have naturally formed the antibody.

The reinfection phenomenon, Wiku discussed, was still questioned by researchers. “The SARS-CoV-2 virus is a brand-new kind of coronavirus, so the immunity after exposure is still a question for scientists,” Wiku stated in a virtual press conference on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

However, Wiku priced quote a study by the Hong Kong Medical Journal published in 2020 that there were possible elements causing survivors to be reinfected, consisting of hidden infections in the body, cross-contamination of other weird viruses, and false-positive test outcomes.

This indicated that recovered patients had no reason to disregard the established health procedures, Wiku highlighted.

The government through the Health Ministry had also passed a new guideline that enabled individuals who have recuperated from the disease to go through vaccination.

” Survivors can be immunized 3 months after being recuperated,” as kept in mind in the circular tattooed by the Acting Director-General of Illness Avoidance and Control of the Health Ministry, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, on February 11, 2021, 2021.

Nevertheless, Wiku asserted that the Covid-19 vaccine might offer a 100- percent warranty of a person not being exposed to the coronavirus. Thus the task force appealed to the public, including survivors, to remain disciplined in executing the health protocols.
