East Java Governor Apologizes for Province’s Pandemic Handling

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta East Java governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa through her Instagram account on Tuesday evening has issued a public apology for how the province is handling the Covid-19 pandemic. She also stated that the local government understands the hardship that the public has to endure amidst the restriction.

“In the name of the East Java administration, I offer my apology if the handling of Covid-19 in East Java does not satisfy the general public,” said governor Khofifah on Tuesday, Antaranews reports.

She assures that the local government’s attempt to halt the spread of Covid-19 will not back down and said they will also accelerate the mass-vaccination program. Moreover, Khofifah encourages people to continue abiding by health protocols amidst the emergency PPKM.

Reported earlier, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo announced the extension of the emergency PPKM for five more days until July 25 before the government gradually lifts the restriction on July 26, which the President insists is based on the development of active Covid-19 cases.
