IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – S tate-owned pharmaceutical holding company PT Bio Farma announced on Thursday, July 16, 2020, that it will increase the production of polymerase domino effect (PCR) devices in the near future.
Bio Farma president director Honesti Basyir explained that the firm presently has a production capability of as much as 240,000 units month-to-month and had the ability to produce approximately 140,000 PCR test devices.
” The production capacity has actually been raised to 1.5 million units and eventually to 2 million systems by September 2020,” said Honesti in a remote press conference on Thursday, July 16,2020
PCR test equipment production is a collective effort with the Task Force for Research Study and Technological Innovation for Covid-19(TFRIC19) backed by the Firm for the Assessment and Application of Innovation (BPPT).
100,000 PCR test equipment – which claims to have passed the golden requirement in COVID-19 examinations – have been contributed to 45 labs throughout the country up to July 2020, laboratories that are solely suggested by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).
