Attorney General’s Office Slams ICW’s Foul Play Claims

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta The Attorney General’s Workplace (AGO) on Monday, August 24, 2020, rejected the allegation raised by the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), which thinks nasty play in the fire that engulfed the AGO head office on Saturday, August 22, 2020, to eliminate case files and pieces of proof.

” It’s fine to be suspicious, however there need to be proof to support it. Does the person who said it know about this building? This facility does not keep case files,” stated the head of AGO’s legal info center Hari Setiyono, in a press conference on Monday, August 24,2020 “Being suspicious without evidence can develop into slander,” Hari added.

Hari explained that case files are not stored in the AGO structure that was engulfed in flames however is stored in another center located far from the burned AGO structure. He also stated that each and every case submits managed by the AGO has been supported.

The Chief law officer’s Workplace structure went in flames on Saturday, August 22,2020 The fire burned through the offices of the attorney general, the deputy lawyer, the planning and finance body, the intelligence body, and the staff bureau. No victims were reported in this incident.

ICW formerly required the Corruption Elimination Commission (KPK) to partake in the investigation of the reason for the fire after they believe the fire was deliberate to damage pieces of evidence of cases that are being managed by the Attorney General’s Office.
