Anies Baswedan Reminds Jakarta Residents of PSBB Transition

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inspected the city’s transportation mode at the intermode integration point in the Terowongan Kendal (Kendal Tunnel), Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on the first day of the office reopening during the social restriction or PSBB transition period.

“Today morning, we inspect several Jakarta areas because we know that Jakarta is still on the PSBB transition period,” said Anies in a voice recording received by Tempo on Monday, June 8.

“We have seen 100-percent passengers coming out from public transportation wear face masks,” he said.

Anies reminded residents to comply with health protocols in order to break the chain of the Covid-19 transmission. The former minister of education and culture asked citizens to always wear face masks when leaving homes.

He underlined that the coronavirus pandemic in the capital city has not yet ended despite the declining trend in Covid-19 cases. However, the government had allowed the reopening of several economic up to social activities since the transition period began last Friday. “Including offices,” the governor added.

Anies Baswedan said he would mobilize officers to ensure that residents are obeying the health protocols. He was also determined to impose a fine of Rp250,000 for those who leave their homes without wearing face masks.

“This is not about the fine, but a prevention measure against the virus spread,” Anies said.
