Yogyakarta-based Gadjah Mada University (UGM) has actually signed up with the ranks of the world’s top 300 universities, moving up 66 places to land in 254 th position on the 2021 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, which was launched on Wednesday.
It ranked 320 th out of 1,000 universities last year.
The increase in ranking puts UGM in the lead of 8 Indonesian universities that are noted.
University of Indonesia (UI) is ranked 305 th, followed by the Bandung Institute of Indonesia (ITB) at 313 th location.
Airlangga University is ranked between 521 st and 530 th, Bogor Agricultural University in between 531 st and 540 th, the November 10 Institute of Innovation in between 751 st and 800 th and both Bina Nusantara University and Padjajaran University in between 801 st and 1,000 th
The QS World University Rankings examines 6 parameters to score university rankings, particularly academic reputation, company credibility, variety of citations per faculty, faculty-students ratio and the percentage of foreign students and international professor.
UGM’s rector Panut Mulyono expressed his appreciation over the university’s achievement.

UGM’s quality control office head, Indra Wijaya Kusuma, stated the upgrade would motivate the university and its faculty members to provide quality education to trainees.

The United States ' Massachusetts Institute of Innovation (MIT) declared the primary spot. The National University of Singapore is the top university in Asia at 11 th location.
