Jakarta. Former Army chief of personnel General (ret.) Pramono Edhie Wibowo, an in-law of former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or SBY, died at a local hospital in Cianjur, West Java, on Saturday evening. He is 65.
Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, the eldest boy of SBY, verified the news in a statement. He stated his uncle has actually caught illness but didn’t elaborate.
Pramono Edhie Wibowo– the Army chief of personnel (2011-2013) and the Democratic Party’s head of advisory board for organization, recruitment and subscription (2015-2020)– at 7.
The news came a year after previous First Girl Ani Yudhoyono, Pramono’s senior sibling, died at a medical facility in Singapore after a long battle with cancer.
In August in 2015, SBY likewise lost his mother, Siti Habibah, who died at 87.
Pramono was at the helm of the army throughout the 2nd term of the SBY presidency. Like lots of other retired generals, he entered politics post-military profession by joining the Democratic Party, which was founded by SBY prior to his 2004 election as president.
The party is now led by Agus.
Pramono, a native of Magelang, Central Java, was also a former commander of the Army’s elite Unique Forces unit, or Kopassus.
He is survived by wife Kiki Gayatri and two children– Ayu Ratna Pratiwi and Yusuf Putra Pramono.
Army spokesman Brig. Gen. Nefra Firdaus stated Pramono will be buried at the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery in South Jakarta on Sunday.
” In memory of the late General Pramono Edhie Wibowo as we are mourning his passing, flags will be flown at half-mast at all units of the Army for the next seven days starting Sunday,” Nefra stated in a declaration.
