Jakarta – Vice President Ma’ ruf Amin has ensured that efforts to speed up advancement programs in the provinces of Papua and West Papua will run efficiently and fit the needs of districts with low prosperity rates.
” I want to ensure that the program is designed to manage the districts with low success rate,” he said here on Monday in his capability as chief of the guiding council of the integrated coordination group for the acceleration of prosperity development in the provinces of Papua and West Papua.
Seven issues will become the focus of the advancement program in the two provinces, in accordance with President Joko Widodo’s direction number 9 of 2020 on the accelerated development of success in Papua and West Papua, he noted.
The 7 issues are poverty elimination, education, health, micro small companies, manpower, facilities, and sustainable development goals (SDGs), he notified.
He said he has asked the National Development Planning (PPN) Ministry/National Development Preparation Firm (Bappenas) to map issues in the provinces and guarantee the working program pertains to regional requirements.
” I want Bappenas’ plan to meet local conditions, in accordance with the focus of the advancement program on the 7 problems. By doing this the regions that have low success rates can be identified and the activities of the (development) program are readily available (to them),” he explained.
On The Other Hand, National Advancement Preparation (PPN) Minister/National Development Preparation Firm (Bappenas) head Suharso Monoarfa has actually released the Quick Wins program, as part of efforts to speed up advancement in Papua and West Papua. Through the program, the federal government will carry out a total of 231 activities in 2021 and 2022, he notified.
He stated public relations services and all relevant stakeholders need to get involved in the program considering that the public interaction strategy is essential for building public trust.
