Speed climber Veddriq Leonardo clinches gold in Seoul

Jakarta – Indonesian speed climber Veddriq Leonardo declared the gold medal at the 2023 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup in Seoul, South Korea, on Friday.

Head of the Indonesia Climbing Federation (FPTI), Yenny Wahid, said that the results in Seoul will encourage professional athletes to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Polish speed climber and two-time ladies’s speed climbing world champion, Aleksandra Miroslaw, won the gold medal and set a new world record with a time of 6.

The silver medal in the women’s speed category was protected by another Polish climber, Natalia Kalucka, with a time of 6.67 seconds.

The 2023 IFSC Climbing World Cup in Seoul is being held from April 28–30, and is being gotten involved by 287 athletes.

Indonesia has sent out 9 professional athletes– 6 guys and 3 ladies– to complete in the speed classification of the World Cup series in Seoul.

The certification duration for Paris 2024 for sport climbing will begin in August 2023 at the IFSC Climbing World Championships in Bern, Switzerland.
