Labuan Bajo, NTT – The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police conducted traffic engineering in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for the 42 nd ASEAN Top on May 9-11, 2023.
” There are routes that will be closed or diverted from May 7 to May10 It will not be executed for 24 hours,” NTT Regional Police Chief Inspector General Johanis Asadoma mentioned at the ASEAN Summit Security Press Conference in Labuan Bajo on Thursday.
Throughout the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, the NTT Regional Police will close some roads, divert traffic, and carry out reverse traffic engineering. The objective is to speed up the delegates’ travel time, he included.
He said that traffic engineering will be performed in the kind of counter-flow on the path from Sudamala Hotel to Meruorah Hotel and then from Meruorah Hotel to Ayana Hotel.
Asadoma mentioned that road closure and traffic diversion will not be conducted for too long and just in case of movement of delegates from one point of activity to another point of activity.
” That will be short-term. If there is a movement, we close it. After it is done, we will open it again for a minimum of one hour. It will just be temporarily,” he described.

Due to the temporary closure of the route, his side will prepare an alternative path to accommodate people’s mobility.
” Therefore, we look for the general public’s understanding to collectively support the ASEAN Summit by adhering to rules and guidelines that we will use,” he appealed.
In addition, he expressed hope that the general public would obey and support the guideline to make sure the success of the ASEAN top considering that it will support the good name of Indonesia and Labuan Bajo.
The 42 nd ASEAN Summit will occur in Labuan Bajo on May 9-11,2023 The activity will be centered at the Meruorah Labuan Bajo Hotel and the Ayana Labuan Bajo Hotel.
Heads of state and delegations will stay at numerous hotels in Labuan Bajo City.
