Public Works Ministry to build 9,799 flats this year

The construction of flats will cost Rp4.16 trillion for 9,799 systems.

Jakarta – The Ministry of Public Works and People’s Housing prepares to build 9,799 flats across Indonesia at an expense of Rp4.16 trillion this year.

” The construction of flats will cost Rp4.16 trillion for 9,799 units,” director general of housing at the ministry, Khalawi Abdul Hamid, stated throughout a hearing with Commission V of your house of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday.

The flats consist of 5,158 new flats, or 131 towers, and 4,641 flats, or 111 towers, developed based on a multi-year contract (MYC), he said.

” Of the overall of 9,799 flats, 111 units have been developed based on MYC. Therefore, the variety of brand-new flats is only 131 towers,” he notified.

Of the overall homes, there will be 865 rented flats for the low income group, 1,448 rented flats for employees, 2,385 flats for civil servants, and 468 units for military and authorities personnel, he stated.

An overall of 1,875 flats will be used as dorms for education institutions and 2,758 flats will be suggested for institutes of higher learning, he added.

Last year, the ministry developed 823 flats, or 70.28 percent of its target, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted it to refocus its budget plan on the health sector.
