Fourth Batch of Sinovac Vaccine Arrives in Indonesia

Jakarta. The fourth batch of Covid-19 vaccine from Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech got here in Indonesia on Tuesday.

The delivery consisted of 10 million doses of Sinovac vaccine wholesale form to be later processed by state-run pharmaceutical business Bio Farma. Sinovac also delivered one million doses for overfill or an additional volume to expect the production procedure at Bio Farma.

” In overall, Indonesia now has 28 million dosages of vaccine and vaccine prospect,” the Health Ministry’s secretary-general Oscar Primadi informed a press conference relayed from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, on Tuesday.

According to Bio Farma’s representative Bambang Heriyanto, this batch is part of the asked for 140 million dosages of Sinovac’s bulk vaccine for2021 Indonesia will slowly receive the staying bulk until July. This year’s bulk vaccine delivery was initially set up to be completed by November.

” The delivery follows last month’s shipment of 15 million doses of Sinovac’s vaccine bulk and another 1.5 million dosages for overfill,” Bambang said.

Bio Farma has begun processing the earlier batch and intends to produce 13 million dosages by Feb.11 The state-owned enterprise will also start working on the new bulk on Feb. 13 with the conclusion due date on March 20.

All processed bulk will undergo a range of tests and strict quality assurance by Bio Farma and the National Food and Drug Control Company (BPOM).

Bio Farma will alter the vaccine’s name on the packaging from “Coronavac” to “Covid-19 Vaccine”.

” A box carries 10 vials and in other words, 100 dosages. The various packaging will not impact the quality of the vaccine,” Bambang said.

Vaccination Development

Health Ministry’s Covid-19 vaccination spokeswoman Siti Nadia Tarmizi revealed more than 500,000 medical employees out of the targeted 1.5 million have gotten their Covid-19 jab.

So far, the National Commission for Post-Immunization Occasions (KIPI) has yet to receive any report on serious reaction to the vaccine.

” Judging by the variety of immunized health workers and years of experience on vaccination, we are optimistic we can achieve the 1.5 million target by the end of February, at the most recent,” Nadia said.

The federal government will use the just recently landed dosages to inoculate civil service workers on the second phase of the vaccine rollout. There are 17.4 million public service employees to be immunized.

Indonesia seeks to provide shots to 181.5 million individuals to produce herd resistance.
