VP Ma’ruf Amin Pushing for Better Tech Application in Da’wah

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has pushed for Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) management to be more technologically savvy in spreading religious sermons known as da’wah

“The NU has still not fully made use of digital technology in [spreading] its da’wah,” said the vice president in a Nahdlatul Ulama online conference on Wednesday, September 23.

Ma’ruf Amin asserted that digital technology will help effectively spread Islamic teachings despite noting that mastering digital tech as a tool to spread da’wah will continue to pose challenges in organizations.

“This would enable people to be involved in da’wah anytime, anywhere. The flexibility it provides will be great for millennials and generation Z,” said the VP.

Apart from encouraging the use of technology, Ma’ruf Amin also criticized the NU for not being responsive enough towards economic development despite having a large and broad network.
