IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – According to the Defense Minister’s spokesperson Dahnil Anzar on Sunday, October 18, Minister Prabowo Subianto had emphasized the importance of the military partnership between Indonesian and the United States at all levels during his visit to the states.
The US department of defense’s official press release on October 16 announced the meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper at the Pentagon to discuss regional security, bilateral defense priorities, and defense acquisitions.
The joint statement between the two defense ministers reads: “Both leaders shared their desire to enhance bilateral military-to-military activities and work together on maritime security.”
According to the official statement by the Department of Defense, Secretary Esper also communicated the importance of upholding human rights, the rule of law, and professionalization as the two countries expand their engagement.
