Undergo Covid Tests Post Umrah Pilgrimage: Pandemic Task Force

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – As of Tuesday, November 10, umrah pilgrims have started to return home from Saudi Arabia’s holy city of Mecca. The national COVID-19 task force spokesperson, Wiku Adisasmito, said that the pilgrims had undergone testing and quarantine before returning and after they had landed in Indonesia.

“The screening is to ensure their health status regarding COVID-19 and while they wait for their test results, the pilgrims are quarantined at an appointed location in the East Jakarta Pondok Gede Hajj dormitory,” said the task force’s spokesperson.

Moreover, those who test positive for the virus will be recommended to undergo further healthcare in appointed hospitals that are able to handle such cases.

Umrah pilgrims with negative results are required to self-isolate in health facilities appointed by the government,” said Wiku Adisasmito.
