Two East Indonesia Mujahidin Suspects Shot Dead by Densus 88

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Indonesian Anti-terror squad Densus  88 and the Tinombala Task Force shot dead two suspected terrorists, W a.k.a. AAM and AA a.k.a. Azis in Parigi Moutung Regency, Central Sulawesi. The two men were members of the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) terrorist network.

Brig. Gen. Awi Setiyono, National Police Headquarters’ head of public information, said the two suspected terrorists were shot because they resisted arrest. 

“The two suspects fought back and [Densus 88] took firm action, which resulted in death,” Awi said in South Jakarta, Tuesday, November 17.

From the suspects, authorities confiscated two revolvers, two lontong bombs, 20 rounds of 5.56 caliber ammunition, four revolver ammunition, one GPS devise and a compass, two head torches, and Rp306,000 in cash.

Awi said that the police are now conducting a crime scene investigation. The bodies of the two suspected terrorists will be taken to the National Police Hospital for identification purposes.
