Transitional PSBB; Number of Commuter Line Passengers Keeps Rising

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The number of Jabodetabek Commuter Line (KRL) passengers continued to increase during the transitional PSBB or large-scale social restriction. As of today morning at 7 a.m., 75,693 people took the train.

According to the railway operator PT KCI Vice President for Corporate Communications, Anne Purba, the number of today’s passengers soared compared to two weeks ago. On Monday, August 10, at the same time, there were 70,072 commuters.

“Despite the increase, the general condition in several train stations remains stable and under control,”  said Anne in a written statement, Monday, August 24.

Last Monday, August 17, saw fewer passengers as it was a national holiday of the 75th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

Additionally, PT KCI today recorded 6,776 people taking the train from Bogor Station, up from Monday two weeks ago at 5,113.

Compared with the same time ratio, the number of passengers from Bojong Gede Station also increased by 12 percent. There were 6,256 people from the station today.

The Cilebut Station saw a hike, too, by 10 percent to 3,705 commuters. The increase in Citayam Station, meanwhile, hit 30 percent from 4,274 to 5,573 people.

“There are still queues under physical distance in several KRL stations, but it runs orderly,” Anne remarked.
