‘The Shaman Sorceress’ wins at Annecy animation fest

Korean director Ahn Jae-huun’s function animation The Shaman Sorceress bagged the Contrechamp Jury Distinction award at the 44 th Annecy International Animation Movie Celebration in France, Saturday.

Based Upon a 1936 Korean novel of the same title, the film illustrates the breakdown of a traditional family following a clash between shamanism and Christianity. Taking the type of an animated musical, the movie includes Korean vocalist and star Sonya as the shaman Mohwa, who enters into conflict with her kid Woo-yi, a Christian transform, voiced by musical actor Kim Da-hyun.
