Task Force Sheds Light on Priority Groups for Covid-19 Vaccination

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Spokesperson for the Covid-19 mitigation task force, Wiku Adisasmito, said the list of groups of people who will be prioritized for Covid-19 vaccination has not been finalized yet, including members of the House of Representatives (DPR).

“We are still reviewing the priority groups based on the level of the risk,” said Wiku in a virtual press conference broadcasted via the Presidential Secretariat’s Youtube’s channel on Tuesday, September 29.

The government listed six priority groups for the vaccination with a target number of 102.45 million people, as cited from the document of the Covid-19 Mitigation Committee and National Economic Recovery (KPC-PEN) presented by Coordinating Minister for Economy Airlangga Hartarto on Monday, September 28.

The first group is people who are at the forefront of the virus mitigation totaling 1.31 million. The second group is those who have close contact with Covid-19 patients with a target of 50,000 people. The third group is people who work in public services targeting 715,000 people.

The general public amounting to 92.28 million people will also be included in the priority group, as well as 4.36 million educators, and 3.72 million state apparatus or civil servants and members of legislative.

According to Wiku, the priority groups conveyed by Airlangga Hartarto was not a final. “After all plans of Covid-19 vaccination are fixed and clear, we will announce it to the public. We will ensure the availability of vaccines for all,” he concluded.
