Task Force Chief Tests Positive for Covid-19 after Visiting Sulawesi, Kalimantan

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Covid-19 task force chief Doni Monardo announced that he was infected with the coronavirus, following his busy schedule in the past week in leading the disaster mitigation in West Sulawesi and South Kalimantan.

“Based on the PCR test last night, this morning’s result showed a Covid-19 positive with CT Value of 25. I don’t show any symptoms and I do my normal activity this morning,” Doni said in a press conference on Saturday, Jan. 23.

The head of the national disaster mitigation agency (BNPB) is now self-isolating while keeping his eyes on the development of Covid-19 and disaster mitigations in various regions.

Doni has just arrived from Mamuju, West Sulawesi, on Friday afternoon. He recalled that he has been disciplined in implementing health protocol by always wearing a mask and wash hands.

One of his staff who accompanied him during the visit to West Sulawesi and South Kalimantan also tested positive for Covid-19 after all of the staff conducted a PCR test on Friday afternoon.
