Rp800 Million in Fines Collected from COVID-19 Health Protocol Violations

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) had reportedly collected Rp800 million-worth of fines from COVID-19 health protocol violations that were conducted from April up to November. 

The amount of fines collected from this operation ended up to be larger than the fines that were produced from fines collected from business-scale violations.

“Fines for not wearing face masks were Rp800 million but businesses that do not fulfill the COVID-19 protocol requirement was Rp700 million,” said the West Jakarta Satpol PP chief Tamo Sijabat on November 24.

There were 23,000 people that were caught for health protocol negligence which most comprise violations by young people in tourist destinations and violations over car-ride regulations. “80 percent of those who did not wear face masks were youngsters,” said the Satpol PP chief.
