IDNEWSNOW.COM, Bandung – West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said he would begin to relax regulations on economic activities following the downward trend in Covid-19 cases in the province.
“We will slowly open the economy, including schools, tourism, and even shopping malls at 30 percent capacity. [People will also be allowed to] dine in at 30 percent capacity. I think we will achieve our economic revival which is already at 6.13 percent in the second quarter,” he said on Monday, August 19.
The former mayor of Bandung said the decline in cases was marked by a decrease in the hospital bed occupancy rate and the number of active cases. “Today, our hospital occupancy rate is only 26 percent. This is the lowest in history during the PPKM. And the number of daily cases also continues to fall,” he added.
Kamil further reminded residents to remain productive while complying with the predetermined health protocols.
The day before, August 18, Ridwan Kamil said all regions in West Java had already entered the orange zone, which means the medium risk of Covid-19 transmission. “The high-risk category of all areas in West Java has dropped to moderate risk,” he said.
