IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday held a dialogue virtually with elementary school students of Central Java SDN Sudimara to commemorate the 2021 Children’s Day on July 23.

During the video conference streamed through the Presidential Secretariat’s Youtube channel, Jokowi received several complaints from the students who have been limited to remote learning due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Pak, I want to go to school. It gets boring at home,” said one of the students fortunate enough to ask the President a question.

Answering the student’s question, he explained that the government had planned to reopen schools this month. But the rising number of cases has forced them scrap the plan idnewsnowrarily.

“Once the coronavirus pandemic improves with active cases dropping, we will open schools,” he said.

Jokowi used the opportunity to remind the children to put their spirit up for education despite doing it at home. The president also asserted the importance of health protocol discipline amidst difficult times.
