IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Hashim Djojohadikusumo on Friday said his elder brother, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, was furious upon learning that former Maritime and Fisheries Minister Edhy Prabowo was nabbed over corruption in the exports of lobster seeds.
Edhy Prabowo, who has no blood ties with Prabowo Subianto, is a member of the Gerindra Party, which is led by the Defense Minister.
“Pak Prabowo is extremely furious, very disappointed, and feels betrayed,” said Hashim in a press conference held today, December 4.
Hashim explained that Prabowo Subianto’s anger was fueled by the fact that the latter helped promote Edhy to the position of minister after being a loyal member of the Gerindra Party for 25 years.
“To be honest, [Prabowo Subianto] is really disappointed by the child that he ‘adopted’ from the gutter 25 years ago,” said Hasyim in the press conference in North Jakarta.
Edhy Prabowo was officially named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on November 25, 2020 for his alleged involvement in a graft case on lobster seed exports.
