Prabowo Recalls Being Stuck Amidst ‘Courteous’ Omnibus Rally Protesters

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto recalled the moment the car he was stuck in the midst of a sea of the anti-omnibus law protesters on Thursday, October 8. He believes most of them showed positive gestures and let the vehicle he was in to continue driving.

“I was stuck in the middle of a group of protesters, but they opened the way for us. Many I saw waved at me and some kids were courteous,” said Prabowo in a video that was released by the Gerindra Party on Monday, October 12.

The defense minister argues that the protests against the omnibus job creation law were motivated by good intentions but believes that there were irresponsible intentions from certain people hiding behind the protests.

He was mainly worried that the students were enticed to hold protests amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and observed that there were many who did not wear face masks.

“I think they had exceptional intentions. But someone had provoked them,” said Prabowo Subianto. “Take it to the Constitutional Court and file for a judicial review.”
