Police to Recruit 56 KPK Employees as Civil Servants

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The National Police (Polri) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed the circulating news that 56 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who failed to pass the Civic Knowledge Test (TWK) would be recruited as state apparatus (ASN) of the National Police.

Sigit said that on Friday, September 24, he had sent a letter to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on the request for the KPK employees to join the police.

“Last Friday (September 24), I sent a letter to the president, asking 56 people who took the TWK to join us. We’ll recruit them as ASN Polri,” said Sigit in an online press conference on Tuesday, September 28.

Sigit said the request was aimed at meeting the needs of the National Police, especially the Corruption Directorate at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency.

He added that President Jokowi had given a green light. “We received a letter of response from the State Secretary Minister (Pratikno) that the President agreed that 56 employees could become ASN Polri,” Sigit explained.

The National Police would immediately coordinate with the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. “The process is ongoing. We are still discussing the mechanism,” said Sigit.
