Police Arrest Four Members of Pickpocket Syndicate at Mandalika Circuit

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The West Nusa Tenggara Police arrested four people suspected of being part of a pickpocket syndicate from Jakarta. They were caught stealing during the World Superbike (WSBK) 2021 on Sunday at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara.

West Nusa Tenggara Police’s PR head, Sr. Comr. Pol. Artanto said that they suspect the theft was premeditated.

“From yesterday’s security at the WSBK, the four perpetrators—consisting of one man and three women—were caught stealing spectators mobile phones in the Tosca green ticket stands,” he said at a press conference in Mataram, Tuesday, 23 November.

The pickpockets were caught red handed with three Samsung phones and an iPhone in their possession, which they stole from spectators.

Sr. Comr. Hari Barata, the director of general crimes investigation at West Nusa Tenggara Police, said that three of the four pickpockets are related by blood. DC (45) and LA (41) are married couple, joined by their daughter DA (24). The other suspect, AW (34), is their neighbor in Jakarta.
