Police Address Sexual Harassment, Fraud Case in Airport Rapid Test

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Jakarta’s Metro Jaya Police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner Yusri Yunus on Tuesday assured his office has accommodated the victim of sexual harassment and extortion by an officer of a COVID-19 rapid test provider at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Yusri said the victim is currently undergoing psychological examination at the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) of Gianyar, Bali. The victim was sexually harassed as she went through the rapid test at Soekarno-Hatta’s terminal 3.

“We are conducting psychological examination as our evidence at the Gianyar, Bali’s P2TP2A,” said Yusri at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters in South Jakarta.

Other pieces of evidence used by police that will later be used against the probable suspect are the CCTV recording from the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) and witness testimony from the airport’s rapid test program provider, PT Kimia Farma.

According to the authorities, the victim’s testimony is consistent with the confession that spread on Twitter, which eventually went viral and grabbed public and police attention. However, Yusri said that Kimia Farma clarified that there had not been any document forgery but rather a fraud.

Police said that the rapid test employee suspected of sexual harassment and fraud will face Article 378 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) on fraud.
