Pilots Advised To Consider Career Change Until Aviation Industry Recovers

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta The Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) secretary -general, Bayu Sutanto, on Friday openly advised pilots to idnewsnowrarily shift professions as he believed it would take long for the aviation industry to fully recover from the pandemic. 

“This has happened for a number of years and [we] must realistically be patient or shift to another profession. For pilots, this is a fact,” said Bayu Sutanto on Friday’s webinar. 

He predicted that the aviation industry would recover in four to five years after the COVID-19 died down. He added people’s mobility had changed drastically due to the global pandemic. 

Throughout the difficult recovery period, Bayu Inaca said air carrier managements would likely implement business efficiencies to maintain their businesses as the market continues to slump. 

He took for example that pilots in Australia had taken drastic career changes and took jobs in governments to tackle the challenging situation looming over the international aviation industry
