People Urged to Stay Home Ahead of Year-end Holidays amid COVID-19

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Head of the government’s COVID-19 task force, Doni Monardo, in an announcement on Tuesday urged people to stay home ahead of the 2020 year-end holidays; Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

The task force explained that the holidays can potentially generate crowds across tourist destinations and other public facilities which increases the chances of spreading the chain of infection.

“There will be the Christmas and New Year’s holidays that will surely potentially create activities that can generate crowds, including family gatherings,” wrote Doni Monardo.

Apart from preventing people from traveling and exposing themselves to the risk of contracting the coronavirus, he mentioned the bad weather that the BMKG has forecasted that could also hamper anyone’s holiday plans.
